The affairs of the society are managed by its Board of Directors.

There is a total of 18 members, five from each continent (America, Europe and Asia). The term of office of each board member is two years. Every other year, new officers are elected to replace outgoing officers. The term of office for private sector directors is also two years.

A regular meeting of the Board of Directors is held every other year in the same place as the meeting of members. The Board of Directors may assign, by resolution, the time and place of additional meetings.
