The 8th World Congress of the International Society for Fertility Preservation (ISFP2024) will be held from november 15 to 17, 2024 at the JP Tower Hall & Conference in Tokyo, Japan. The theme of this edition of the biennial congress is “Rethinking Personalized Fertility Preservation and Cancer Survivors – Opening a New Frontier –“.
In the words of our President, Nao Suzuki :
We are honored to host the Congress in Tokyo in 2024, two years after the last Congress held in Brussels. The last Congress was postponed one year from the 2019 Congress in New York due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, and it was a wonderful event at which we could resume contact with our many colleagues whose lives were interrupted by the Corona disaster. At ISFP 2024 in Tokyo, I will be the first president from Asia (and the 8th president), and I believe that the congress will be packed with the latest information in this field for doctors as well as other medical professionals.
The main theme of the Congress will be “Rethinking Personalized Fertility Preservation and Cancer Survivors – Opening a New Frontier”. Since the establishment of the ISFP in 2006, the pace of development in the field of fertility preservation has never been faster, and both cancer treatment outcomes and reproductive outcomes in this area have been reported in large numbers in recent years in the United States and Europe. However, there continues to be a growing need to further improve survivorship for childhood and AYA cancer patients who are seeking long-term survival.
We hope that this congress in Tokyo will provide an opportunity for members of the ISFP to explore the direction we should take in the future to further improve the survivorship of childhood and AYA cancer patients to ensure their long-term survival.
Autumn in Japan is the best season to visit, with its cooler weather and the leaves changing colors to golden yellow, light tan, crimson, and orange. We look forward to welcoming conference attendees from all over the world to Tokyo in November 2024.
